A tragic avalanche on the west face of Pico Tablato near Panticosa in the Aragonese Pyrenees claimed the lives of three skiers—two men and one woman from the Basque Country—while a fourth woman was rescued with mild hypothermia. Two others in the group of six escaped unharmed. The incident occurred during ski touring at around 2,700 meters altitude, amid a level 2 avalanche risk.
