The Greek-owned tanker “Sounion,” carrying 150,000 tons of oil, is being towed to a safe anchorage north of the Red Sea by the Greek salvage vessel “Aigaion Pelagos” and the rescue tug “Panormitis.” The vessel, which has been burning for over four weeks due to a Houthi attack, is accompanied by three warships, including the frigate Psara. Efforts are now focused on extinguishing the fires and sealing damage caused by explosives, while the 25-member crew has been safely evacuated to Djibouti.
