Three men in Kefalonia, Greece, were bitten by a viper while collecting snakes for a religious ritual at the Church of Virgin Mary of the Snakes. The men were participating in the annual tradition of gathering "Panagia Snakes," believed to bestow blessings, when the incident occurred.
