The streets of the main shopping district in central Athens, will be pedestrianized as of May next year, announced Athens deputy mayor Giorgos Apostolopoulos on Friday.
Apostolopoulos was responding to a letter from the Athens Traders Association (ESA) raising concerns about the progress made on the project, which began last year and includes Visi, Kairi, Agathonos, Polykleitou, Vlachava, Chrysospiliotisis and Nikiou streets, which have already become pedestrianized.
Apostolopolous informed the ESA that each road being pedestrianized takes about 2 to 2.5 months to be completed and that ten more will be completed by May of next year.
