Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov expressed his condolences to the Greek people for the tragic fires in eastern Attica, during a meeting with Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura in Athens on Monday.
Shkaplerov who is in Greece for rehabilitation on the island of Crete after his third space flight said that he had proposed that a small park is created on Crete where astronauts and cosmonauts that come to Greece can plant an olive tree, which is a symbol of peace and prosperity.
