Who is Greece’s new ambassador to Skopje?

The Ambassador to Greece’s northern neighbor, Dimitris Giannakakis, officially leaves Skopje this week having dealt with the entire critical period before, during and after the signing of the Prespa Agreement.

Prime Minister Zoran Zaef and President Stevo Pendarovski acknowledged his contribution to the deepening of bilateral relations between Athens and Skopje, as well as his support for the country’s efforts to join NATO and the European Union.

The new Ambassador will assume his duties in the last ten days of December, with the full implementation of the Prespa Agreement continuing to be the main issue for Athens.

Coming from the South African capital of Pretoria, Roussos Koundouros will take over diplomatic duties in Skopje.
