EU Foreign Affairs Council meets to discuss regional geopolitics

Greece's Foreign Affairs Minister Mr. Nikos Dendias is scheduled to attend the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) in Brussels today, to exchange views  with his counterparts on the geopolitics of new digital technologies, Ethiopia and the Strategic Compass, according to a ministry announcement.

Chaired by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, the FAC will also give Ministers the opportunity to receive updates and react to the latest developments concerning Afghanistan, South Caucasus and Lebanon, while they are expected to approve conclusions on a Globally Connected Europe and on the EU's priorities at the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations.

Over a working lunch, there will be an informal exchange views with the new Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.

According to the same announcement,  there will be an informal working breakfast for the Council members on the sidelines of the FAC, hosted by the Cypriot foreign minister, with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry as a guest, at which it is expected that there will be an exchange of views on recent developments in the Middle East, on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project and on EU-Egyptian relations.
