A video showing the Turkish coast guard forcefully pushing migrants to Greece is in the limelight after being shared on Twitter by the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Notis Mitarachi. As Mitarachi said, this is a violation of International Law and the European Union's Joint Declaration with Turkey.

The video was filmed by a refugee who was rescued by the Greek authorities.

"This is further proof of the instrumentalisation of migration flows by Turkey," said the minister.

As can be seen in the video, the boat is full of migrants who are shouting desperately during the violent practices of the Turks. The brutality of the Turkish authorities is indeed unprecedented since men are seen beating the migrants with sticks.

Athens responded to the fake news spread today made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding immigration.

The Turkish president continued the completely false rhetoric that started from the floor of the UN General Assembly regarding what is happening in the Aegean with illegal immigrants in his speech today.

Erdoğan asserted: "we see how Greek ships bury innocents in the Aegean and the Mediterranean. Have we heard anything from the world?"

Sources of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum after the statements of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stated: "Turkey, instead of preventing dangerous and illegal migration flows, instead of applying international law and the Joint Declaration with the European Union, is trying to pressure Greece to open its borders.:

"But Greece will continue with the same determination to guard its borders, with absolute respect for International Law ."

Erdoğan also claimed today that Turkey is rescuing immigrants because Turks, as Muslims, "fulfill the demands of Islam."

These outrageous claims by the president of Turkey were made in the same speech in which he also referred to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

"The Greek prime minister is asking for help from the US. Against whom? Against Turkey," he said.

In the same speech, Erdoğan referred to the superiority of Turkey and how it stands out for its economy, its military capabilities and its contribution to humanitarian issues.
