The main asset of Lefkada is the beaches of the eastern coastline, famous all over the world and awarded. Water sports are a must.
So here are the best beaches of the Ionian Island.
Nidri
The busy beach stretches from Nydri to Perigiali. Above there is a series of hotels and other infrastructure.
Nikiana
Small sandy and family beach, surrounded by restaurants and accommodations.
Agios Giannis
Three beaches in a row, next to the town of Lefkada, caught by the wind, are an attraction and a meeting point for windsurfers and kitesurfers.
Porto katsiki
The star of the island with its blue-green waters, has been awarded as the best beach in Greece and one of the most popular in the Mediterranean – that’s why it is flooded with people.
You will go by the downhill road with steps that starts from the parking lot where there are canteens. Otherwise, you will come by boat from Vasiliki.
Vasiliki
At the southern end of the island, in front of the busy village. It has sand and shallow seabeds, so families also prefer it.
Vasiliki is known as a paradise for windsurfers. It is among the ten best beaches in the world and the three best in Europe for this sport. There, the Sea Sports Festival and the International Sailing Regatta are held.
Agios Nikitas
The small beach of the settlement is crowded, but spotlessly clean. Cafes and taverns are a short distance away.
Pefkoulia
Next to Agios Nikitas, an impressively long beach with coarse sand, emerald waters and dense pine trees that reach the water. A part of it is organised.
Mylos
Deep turquoise waters, coarse sand, imposing scenery. The large (and sometimes lonely) beach is flooded with people arriving by boat from neighboring Agios Nikitas. You can also go by path.
Kalamitsi
Three sandy beaches near the village of the same name. With turquoise waters, white pebbles and sand.
Decimi Small beach in a cove on the outer side of the Vlychos peninsula. It is ideal for canoeing, with which you can easily explore the small beaches and caves along the coast.
