Can you tell us about your musical journey and how you discovered your passion for singing?

Music started at a very young age, I was 5 years old when I discovered my passion for music when my parents put me into a piano school. Each term there was a singing competition, I loved entering them, and that’s how it all began!

Winning first place in an eisteddfod at the age of 5 must have been a significant moment for you. How did that experience shape your love for music?

It was, it gave me the confidence I needed at a young age to pursue singing. When you’re young you’re trying to find your feet and find what you are good at. I was lucky to find singing so early.

What inspired you to pursue a career in the music industry?

I’ve always believed that music is there for you no matter what’s happening in life. I love that aspect of the industry, and it’s always been my goal to create music for people to listen to enhance their day, or bring some joy no matter what is happening in their life.

Representing Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 is a tremendous achievement. How does it feel to have this opportunity, and what does it mean to you?

This was something I will never forget. The people I met, the friendships I have made and the sense of achievement will be very hard to match in the future. It’s always been something I have dreamt of, so seeing it come to life is very special.

Your debut single "Throne" received praise from the Australian Independent Record Labels Association. Can you tell us more about the song's inspiration and significance in your career?

“Throne” will always have a special place in my heart. The song is about visualising where you want to be in the future. Essentially seeing yourself on your throne. Seeing yourself achieve those goals you’ve always wanted to achieve. I’m a strong believer in self-belief, and giving yourself the mentality that it CAN be done.

Participating in Eurovision – Australia Decides with the song "Electrify" was another milestone in your career. Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the song and the story it aims to convey?

“Electrify” is about finding someone that brings an element into your life that you’ve never felt before. I wanted the song to be easy to listen to, easy to dance to, and I had an amazing time performing this at Australia Decide.

How did you feel when Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation announced that you would represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023? What does it mean to you to represent your heritage in such a prestigious event?

This was quite an emotional moment. It didn’t feel real for some time. I’m very connected to my roots. I’m very proud to be from Cyprus. Now that Eurovision is finished, I couldn’t be any happier with the reaction from the people of Cyprus. I’m so overwhelmed and happy to hear that I have made them proud. That is all I can ask for.

"Break A Broken Heart" is your Eurovision entry. Can you give us some insights into the song's meaning and what you hope to convey through it?

“Break A Broken Heart” is about being hurt before and knowing within yourself that you can’t be hurt anymore. Life is full of ups and downs. You learn from difficult experiences. This song conveys a message not to shy away from potential hardships. Things happen for a reason, and you can’t break a broken heart 😉.

As a singer with Greek-Cypriot heritage born in Sydney, Australia, how do you incorporate your cultural background into your music?

I have grown up listening to Greek and Cypriot music, it’s on at every family event, when this music is around you all the time it becomes a part of you. When writing songs, I tend to lean towards the melodies and scales you would typically hear in Greek music. This isn’t a decision of mine, this is what naturally happens. Although I am a pop singer, I will always be influenced by the beautiful melodies of Greek-Cypriot music.

What are your aspirations as a singer and songwriter in the music industry, both in the short term and long term?

For me I want to continue releasing music for the world, performing and bringing joy to as many people as I can. The fact that over 10 million people have listened to Break a broken heart blows my mind. This gives me so much motivation. Whatever happens, I just want to sing for people and entertain as long as I physically can!

Are there any specific artists or musicians who have influenced your musical style and sound? If so, who are they and how have they inspired you?

There are many, I’ve always listened to Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Imagine Dragons, the weekend, and I’m influenced by artists like Konstantinos Argiros. The list can go on forever.
