One of the greatest and most beloved Greek singers will be traveling to Australia for a series of concerts in all the major cities during September and October to celebrate 26 years in the music industry.
Giannis Ploutarchos has reigned in the Greek charts for over 20 years. Massive hits such as Afieromeno, Ah Koritsi Mou, To Kalitero Paidi, and Matia Mou have dominated the popular Greek laiko music scene.
Born in Mavrogeia, just outside Orchomenos, he comes from a family that struggled to make ends meet. He started singing at the age of six, and ten years later, having decided that he wanted to pursue a singing career, he moved to Athens under the pretext that he wanted to study hairdressing.
To make a living there, he worked in a hair salon in the mornings and sang in nightclubs. However, he was disappointed by the conditions in the music business and abandoned singing but returned to it two years later.

Very early on in his career, particularly after the release of his second album, Giannis Ploutarchos had a huge commercial success and has since collaborated with big names from the Greek and international music scene, such as Kaiti Garbi, Peggy Zina, Al Bano, Konstantina, Pantelis Pantelidis and many more.
