Migrants and refugees disrupt ferry’s departure from Rhodes, demand to be taken off the island

Some 400 migrants and refugees that marched to the port of Rhodes from various locations on the island on Sunday caused by a major disruption when they stood in front of the boarding ramp of the passenger/car ferry “Nisos Chios” and prevented its departure, demanding to be taken off the island to either organised reception facilities or the mainland.
The demonstration has also disrupted the docking of the passenger/car ferry “Nisos Patmos” that was due to arrive at the port and may dock elsewhere for safety reasons, while all relevant authorities have been alerted
