A major Anti-Terrorist operation in the Greek capital has been underway since Tuesday morning.

At least eight people have been arrested and are in Attica General Police Directorate (GADA) after operations in various areas of Athens, Proto Thema reported.

According to the report, the arrests are related to the bomb attack that occurred on January 25 at a bank on Trion Ierarchon Street in the Petralona neighbourhood.

The newly formed organisation "Revenge Conspiracy" claimed responsibility for the explosion three days after the attack.

Police are also conducting searches at the homes of those arrested.

The explosive device had detonated a few minutes after 03:00 in the morning of January 25.

The detonation of the bomb had caused material damage to a parked car, as well as a crater from the explosion.
