Yannis Kotsiras releases his new album "Window to Infinity"

Yannis Kotsiras

A new album with lyrics by Manos Eleftheriou and music by Manolis Androulidakis

At a time when traditional discography is now a thing of the past and the forms of presenting new material have changed drastically, Yannis Kotsiras insists on the old, tested method of the complete disc with the songs of a lyricist and a composer.

His new album, entitled "Window to Infinity", apart from his undeniably excellent performances, has a powerful artistic weapon, which is none other than the high lyrical art of Alkis Alkaios, the one who transformed into words some of the greatest songs of the Greek repertoire such as "Erotiko" (Piroga) and "Roza".

In 2012, Alkis Alkaios and Yannis Kotsiras entrusted these anecdotal verses that he left behind when leaving to the excellent composer, musician and instrumentalist Manolis Androulidakis, who has collaborated with great creators, including Mikis Theodorakis, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Christos Leontis et al. And thus, ten new, wonderful songs were born.

In terms of their basis and aim, ten folk songs, however, wander in different sound paths through their particular orchestrations. From journeying, soulful love ballads like 'Another Fairy Tale', 'Don't Be Afraid of the Shadows' and the melodic violin-starring 'Happy Note', to the powerfully artful Zeibeckies 'A Moonlit Road' and 'The crazy people of this World" and the rhythmic, self-titled track of the album.

Yannis Kotsiras' performances, full of emotional intensity, sometimes sweet and sometimes dynamic with intense moments of climax, connect the songs and lead effortlessly, from one to the other, making the listening flow like gurgling water that at every finale you want to drink a little more.

"This is the record of my life", confessed the performer at the official presentation of the record that took place at noon on Monday in the auditorium of the Vassilis & Elizas Goulandris Foundation in Pagrati, in the presence of several artist friends such as George Dalaras, Eleftheria Arvanitakis, Kostas Thomaidis etc. And he's probably right.

All those different pieces of his performing personality contained within this record that matured in the three decades of his journey now constitute a single, indivisible, and complete performing character.
