Tensions in the Aegean Sea are on the rise after Turkey issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) restricting air activity in a large area of the central Aegean near Psara Island. The NOTAM, which is in effect for two months until the end of April, would enable Turkey to conduct aeronautical exercises in the area.

Greece objected to the NOTAM, citing its concerns about the length of the restriction and the fact that it overlaps with the upcoming Greek national holiday on March 25th, during which both countries traditionally refrain from conducting military exercises.

In response to Turkey's NOTAM, Greece issued its own counter-NOTAM, effectively denouncing the Turkish restrictions.
