For the second consecutive year, the "Macedonia" airport of Thessaloniki has been recognised as one of the top airports in Europe in the category of five to 15 million annual passengers.

The distinction was awarded to Fraport Greece at the "2023 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards", where Thessaloniki's airport was honoured for the first time as one of the top in Europe in terms of cleanliness.

The ASQ awards, an initiative of the Airports Council International (ACI), recognise the best airports worldwide according to passenger opinion. According to a statement by Fraport Greece, the uniqueness of these awards lies in the evaluation process, which directly gathers passenger feedback during their journey, ensuring the most realistic depiction of their experience and satisfaction.

"This distinction for Thessaloniki 'Macedonia' Airport not only confirms the best practices implemented and the high-quality services provided by the highly trained airport staff, but also contributes to enhancing the visibility of the city of Thessaloniki and Greece as a whole," the announcement states.

According to Alexander Zinell, CEO of Fraport Greece, "This distinction gives us a strong impetus to continue our work with even greater awareness, always focusing on the expectations and needs of all our passengers, as they evolve over time. Our main goal remains to contribute to the development of Greek tourism and local communities through the sustainable development of our company, while simultaneously providing a safe and unforgettable travel experience for all passengers."
