NATO Exercise "DYNAMIC MANTA 24": Greek Navy Enhances Anti-Submarine Warfare Skills

From February 26 to March 8, 2024, the Greek Navy participated in the NATO Exercise "DYNAMIC MANTA 24" with the KOUTOURIOTIS Frigate of the Unorthodox War Group and the MATROZOS Submarine. The exercise took place in the broader maritime area of Sicily, the Ionian Sea, and the central Mediterranean.

The purpose of the annual Exercise "DYNAMIC MANTA" is to provide realistic training for participants in anti-submarine warfare, involving complex operational scenarios and a multi-threat environment. Furthermore, special operations were conducted to enhance the cooperation among NATO units.

The exercise featured the participation of ships, submarines, helicopters, naval cooperation aircraft, and personnel from France, Germany, Greece, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Spain, Italy, Canada, Turkey, along with units from the Allied Naval Force Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2).
