The Public Health Directorate of the Region of Crete issued a statement urging citizens to exercise caution. Measurements conducted in collaboration with the University of Crete and the Technical University of Crete revealed elevated levels of PM10 particles, attributed to the influx of dust from the Eastern Mediterranean region.

Precautionary measures advised by health officials include limiting outdoor activities, especially strenuous exercise, for individuals with heart conditions or respiratory problems. Additionally, the use of relieving medication is encouraged to mitigate the potential health impacts of prolonged exposure to the dusty air.

As the country grapples with the persistent presence of African dust, residents are urged to stay informed and adhere to health guidelines to safeguard their well-being during this atmospheric challenge.
