The 9th annual Delphi Economic Forum, known for its global significance in convening influential leaders and experts, commences today at noon (E.T), running from Wednesday, April 10, to Saturday, April 13, 2024. The Hellenic Republic's President, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, will inaugurate the event.
This year's forum, titled "The Great Transition," focuses on the profound shifts occurring across various spheres globally. Symeon Tsomokos, President of the Delphi Economic Forum, emphasised in a press briefing that the world is undergoing radical transformations in geopolitics, climate dynamics, and technological advancements. Hence, the central theme underscores the magnitude of change.
With over 1,000 speakers from 70 countries, the event boasts an impressive lineup of dignitaries, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar, and Montenegro President Jakov Milatović. Additionally, prominent figures such as Queen Dana of Jordan, OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann, and European Commission Vice-President Margrethe Vestager are among the distinguished participants.
This year's forum places special emphasis on Greece's opportunities and challenges, spanning topics like healthcare, education, entrepreneurship, green initiatives, and the future of key economic sectors like banking and energy. Discussions will also commemorate the 50th anniversary of democracy restoration and the 20th anniversary of the Athens Olympic Games.
The forum's agenda, developed in collaboration with leading Greek and international think tanks, addresses critical global issues across six main themes: Geopolitics, Planet, Sustainable Economy and Financial Sector, Future, Education, and People. These discussions aim to provide insights into navigating the current transitional phase and shaping a collective future.
With its diverse range of topics and esteemed participants, the Delphi Economic Forum continues to serve as a crucial platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas, offering a comprehensive perspective on contemporary global challenges and opportunities.
