FASTING RECIPE: Chocolate semolina halva

Chocolate semolina halva fasting

Try this fasting semolina halva, which will satisfy anyone who tries it, especially those who are fasting. Cranberries and cocoa give it a special flavour dimension.

Materials for six servings:

100 ml extra virgin olive oil
200 gr. fine semolina
50 gr. cocoa powder
100 gr. almonds, blanched
60 gr. dried cranberries
300 gr. granulated sugar
400 ml of hot water
One whole lemon peel
One cinnamon stick
cinnamon, powdered, for serving

Procedure

Step 1

In a deep pot (it is important that it is deep), pour the extra virgin olive oil with semolina, cocoa, almonds, and cranberries, and mix it with a wooden spoon for 7-8 minutes.

Step 2

In another small pot, boil the sugar, water, lemon peel, and cinnamon stick until they become syrup.

Step 3

As soon as the semolina is roasted and hot, pour the syrup and stir constantly until it thickens and the halva comes off the sides of the pot.

Step 4

Then, put the halva in a form, press it down well, and let it cool for 15 minutes. Unmould on a plate, sprinkle with a little cinnamon, and serve.
