Greek-Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem leads Orthodox Palm Sunday procession (Video)

Orthodox Christians walk holding palm branches on the eve of Palm Sunday holiday on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, Saturday

The Greek-Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III, and clergy held palm fronds during a procession leading into the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where Jesus is believed to be buried.

Fewer pilgrims attended this year’s event due to the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

“We pray for the entire world, for those who suffer,” said Father Samuel Aroyan, who attended the Palm Sunday event.

“Hopefully, God will direct the leaders of the countries so that they will do the best for the people and for the world so that peaceful life will be established in the world,” he added.
