United Airlines has launched a new, daily seasonal direct connection between Athens "Eleftherios Venizelos" International Airport and its main hub in Chicago, O'Hare. This will increase flights from Greece by over 30%.

The launch of the new flight from Athens to Chicago/O'Hare adds to United's existing flights from Greece, which began earlier this year: a daily seasonal connection from Athens to New York/Newark, which began March 31, and Washington/Dulles, which started on April 15, 2024.

United "Leadership" in Atlantic flights

The new flight from Athens to Chicago/O'Hare underscores United's leadership as the largest transatlantic airline among US airlines. For the summer of 2024, United had nonstop flights from 37 transatlantic destinations, the most in history and more destinations than all other US carriers combined.

United continues to be the only airline that connects the US directly to Dubrovnik, Malaga, Majorca and Tenerife.

United's 2024 summer schedule also includes new flights from Barcelona to San Francisco, the resumption of the seasonal flight from Reykjavik to New York/Newark, and additional flights from Rome and Brussels.

It has also increased its summer seasonal flights from Malaga to New York/Newark to weekdays and restarted the flight earlier - on 3 May 2024.

In addition, the airline has restarted some of its most popular seasonal flights from Nice, Lisbon, Barcelona, Rome, Milan and Naples, giving customers more time and flexibility to explore destinations across the US.

United's new seasonal flight from Athens to Chicago/O'Hare will be operated with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
