Expansion of Electric Bus Fleet in Athens and Thessaloniki

Athens and Thessaloniki have integrated 250 new electric buses into their urban transport networks. This initiative marks a significant advancement in upgrading public transportation and improving accessibility for residents facing mobility challenges, as reported by ANA based on the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport's statement.

Looking ahead, the ministry plans to expand the fleet even further:

• A forthcoming tender will soon be issued to acquire 700 electric buses capable of both slow and fast charging, along with trolleys for Athens.
• Additionally, Athens and Thessaloniki will introduce 300 and 164 leased buses, respectively, as part of their ongoing transportation enhancement efforts.
