A 35-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly causing a fire at Glyka Nera, NE Attica.
The Greek man, apprehended by the arson investigation unit in collaboration with the police, was fined 4,675 euros and is currently detained. He is scheduled to appear before the misdemeanors prosecutor of Athens on Thursday.
According to the Fire Brigade, the suspect was among four individuals detained earlier by the police. Additional sources indicate that these individuals are employees of a private company and were operating a drone on the northern side of Mt Hymettus. Authorities are investigating whether the crashed drone is linked to the fire.
The fire, which broke out at 14:20, was brought under control within two hours, according to the Fire Brigade.
