Wimbledon, A year after their thrilling Wimbledon final clash, Nick Kyrgios and Novak Djokovic reunited on the hallowed grounds of SW19, albeit under very different circumstances. The two tennis stars delighted fans with a light-hearted practice session, offering a glimpse of their unique camaraderie.
While Djokovic continues his quest for a record-tying eighth Wimbledon title, Kyrgios has been sidelined due to injury, taking on a commentator role this year. Despite the contrasting journeys, the pair brought their trademark energy and playful banter to the practice court, much to the joy of onlookers.
Djokovic, currently ranked No. 2 in the world, even playfully mimicked Kyrgios’ signature serve and grunt, eliciting laughter from the crowd and his practice partner.
Kyrgios, who boasts a 2-1 head-to-head record against Djokovic, shared his excitement on social media, tweeting, “Feel like a little kid again. Feeling excited. Long way back from this surgery!” The Australian star has been battling knee and wrist injuries, limiting him to just one tour-level match since October 2022.
Djokovic will continue his Wimbledon campaign on Saturday against another Australian powerhouse, Alexei Popyrin, in the third round.
