Athens and Thessaloniki are set to bolster their electric public transport fleets with another 700 electric buses and trolleybuses. Following the successful deployment of 250 electric buses, the Greek government has initiated procedures for a new tender.

Public consultation for the tender, structured as a framework agreement, is underway and expected to launch in October. This new acquisition aims to add 700 vehicles, including short-haul and fast-charging electric buses, along with approximately 200 modern trolleybuses specifically for Athens, according to Transport Ministry officials.
