TrainOSE labour unions have called a 24-hour nationwide strike on Thursday, September 26, demanding the recruitment of new staff, modernisation of rolling stock, and improved safety measures.

The unions cited the tragic Tempi accident, which claimed 57 lives, including 11 railway workers, as evidence of the system’s long-standing issues and neglect.

TrainOSE confirmed that train services will be impacted but will operate some routes with the help of security personnel to minimise disruption for passengers.
