Tragedy in Samos: 8 Dead in Shipwreck, Including 6 Children

Samos, Greece – November 25, 2024 – A search and rescue operation is underway in the waters north of Samos, Greece, following a tragic shipwreck that has claimed the lives of eight people, including six children. The Hellenic Coast Guard, under the coordination of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), is leading the effort.

So far, 36 survivors have been rescued by Greek authorities. A Coast Guard patrol boat also rescued three individuals stranded on a rocky shore. Tragically, eight bodies have been recovered from the sea: six children and two women.
