Amorgos, Greece – An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale struck the island of Amorgos in the Cyclades on Sunday night, causing concern among residents but no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

According to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory, this seismic event followed an earlier tremor of 4.7 on the Richter scale, with both earthquakes occurring within ten minutes of each other.
The earthquakes had focal depths of 41.3 kilometers, and the epicenter of the stronger quake was located 15 kilometers south-southeast of Amorgos. Less than 10 minutes before the 5.0 quake, an earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale was recorded.
