A group of 10 sick and wounded children from Gaza has safely arrived in Greece as part of a humanitarian medical evacuation effort led by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The operation was carried out with the support of the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, the World Health Organization (WHO), and Egyptian authorities. Before their departure to Athens, the children had received preliminary medical care at the Greek Hospital in Cairo.

A special flight, provided by AEGEAN Airlines, transported the young patients and their guardians to Greece, where they will now receive further medical treatment in the country’s healthcare facilities. Meanwhile, their accompanying family members will be accommodated in structures provided by the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum.

The complex mission was made possible through the coordinated efforts of multiple Greek government agencies, including the Ministries of Health, Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Migration and Asylum, as well as the National Emergency Medical Services (EKAV).
Greece’s initiative underscores its ongoing commitment to humanitarian assistance and international solidarity amid the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
