In light of recent seismic activity affecting Santorini’s tourism, the Municipality of Thira is actively participating in the ITB Berlin 2025 travel and tourism exhibition to promote the island with fresh campaigns.
“As we navigate the challenges the island is facing, this initiative is part of a broader strategy to boost tourism and support the local community as we prepare for the upcoming tourism season,” said the municipality in a statement.
Taking place from March 4 to 6 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, ITB Berlin 2025 will host 5,800 exhibitors from over 170 countries and offer a global platform for tourism promotion.
The Municipality of Thira will be presenting Santorini’s premier attractions to international tourism professionals at Hall 1.1, Stand 101, aiming to elevate the island’s profile as seismic activity subsides.
Building on the success of this year’s exhibition, the municipality will unveil new promotional materials, including themed videos, brochures, photographs, and exclusive gifts to showcase the island’s beauty and provide an immersive experience for visitors.
“The Municipality’s participation in ITB 2025 underscores its commitment to promoting Santorini and Thirasia, supporting the local economy, businesses, and workforce,” the announcement highlighted.
This campaign emphasizes the island’s unique geological and cultural heritage while focusing on sustainable development. As Santorini continues to recover, this initiative is a key part of a larger strategy to drive tourism and strengthen the local community in preparation for the new travel season.
