FIBA has officially confirmed Greece, Lithuania, Estonia, and Iceland as the partner nations for the co-hosts of EuroBasket 2025.

Greece will team up with Cyprus, Lithuania with Finland, Estonia with Latvia, and Iceland with Poland in the upcoming tournament.

This announcement, made on Wednesday, marks the formal confirmation of the pairings between the four co-hosts and their partner countries. The pairings will determine the groups for the official EuroBasket 2025 draw, which will take place on March 27 at 14:00 CET in Riga, Latvia.

According to FIBA, the teams will be grouped as follows:

  • Lithuania (ranked 6th in Europe) will compete alongside Finland in Tampere.
  • Greece (ranked 8th in Europe) will face Cyprus in Limassol.
  • Estonia (ranked 21st in Europe) will join Latvia in Riga.
  • Iceland (ranked 26th in Europe) will be placed in the Katowice group, hosted by Poland.

The partnership concept, introduced at FIBA EuroBasket 2015, has been a crucial element in organising the tournament, helping with logistics and boosting marketing opportunities. It has been embraced by all co-hosting federations, playing an important role in the smooth execution of the event.

FIBA Executive Director Europe, Kamil Novak, emphasized the significance of this partnership approach: “The partnership concept, in line with the four co-hosts format, is key to the success of EuroBasket 2025, just as it has been in the previous three editions.”

The Group Phase of FIBA EuroBasket 2025 will kick off on August 27 in Limassol, Tampere, Riga, and Katowice, with the Final Phase to be held at Arena Riga. The European champions will be crowned on September 14, 2025.

This strategic partnership not only enhances marketing efforts but also fosters greater fan engagement, allowing supporters to rally behind their national teams in this prestigious European basketball tournament.
