Student rallies demanding justice for the victims of the 2023 Tempe railway disaster have occurred in central Athens and various other cities.

In Athens, the demonstration began at Athens University, with participants marching to the Parliament. At midday, they observed a minute of silence followed by a sit-in protest in front of the legislative building.

According to police reports, 23 individuals were detained during the event, with 5 of them being arrested.

Due to the protests, Syntagma and Panepistimio metro stations were shut down at 10 a.m., with trains bypassing these stations.

Unions are planning another demonstration outside the parliament later in the afternoon.

Similar protests took place in Thessaloniki and Patra.
