A tragic incident unfolded in Thessaloniki on Thursday morning when a 75-year-old woman was pulled lifeless from the waters of the Thermaic Gulf.
The woman’s body was discovered around 7:30 a.m. by a passerby near the German Consulate and was subsequently retrieved from the sea by authorities.
According to initial reports, the woman was walking along the wooden deck by the waterfront when she reportedly felt unwell and fell into the sea. The Coast Guard was promptly notified, but despite their efforts, she was recovered unconscious and could not be revived.
Emergency services from EKAB transported her body to Agios Dimitrios Hospital, where medical staff officially pronounced her dead. The circumstances surrounding her fall remain under investigation as authorities work to piece together the events leading to this heartbreaking outcome.
