Another step towards deepening business relations between Greece and India was marked by the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The memorandum was signed by the President of the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ioannis Bratakos, and Nishant Arya, Co Chairman of the CII Europe Council and Vice President of the JBM Group, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion, Tasos Hadjivassiliou, and the Ambassador of India to Greece, Rudrendra Tandon.
In detail, the memorandum outlines joint actions to promote bilateral trade and investment in the India-Greece corridor, as well as the exchange of information on economic and trade issues, including specific industrial sectors, and its dissemination to member companies of both organizations.
It also includes the organization of seminars, conferences, and road shows by experts, the promotion of the interconnection of the industries of the two countries, with particular emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the cooperation of the two bodies for the establishment by the CII of the India-Greece Chamber of Commerce.
Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Hadjivassiliou, welcoming the initiative, noted that it marks a new era in business relations between the two countries, constituting an important opportunity for the mutually beneficial approach of the business communities of the two countries.
At the same time, he assured the full support of the Greek state in this synergy.
For his part, the Indian ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the signing of the Memorandum, which he described as a continuation of the government mission that took place in India last year, while emphasizing that its importance lies mainly in the actions that will follow.
