The Athens Municipality will begin returning vehicle and motorcycle license plates starting tomorrow, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, to facilitate travel during the Easter holidays.
To retrieve their plates, owners must pay the corresponding fine and present the following documents at the Municipal Police offices located at 14 Agiou Konstantinou Street, 1st floor, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM:
- Vehicle registration certificate
- Valid insurance policy
- ID card or a certified authorisation if collected by a third party
The municipality noted that plates and driver’s licenses confiscated for antisocial parking violations—such as parking on disability ramps or spaces marked R-71 and R-72—or those subject to judicial decisions will not be returned.
This initiative aims to ease holiday travel for residents while ensuring compliance with traffic regulations.
