Macquarie University’s School of International Studies has reached a record-breaking 102 candidates from NSW and the ACT sat for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek Language exams, held at Macquarie University on 14th, 15th and 16th of May.

This impressive turnout has made Macquarie the largest examination centre for the certificate in the Southern Hemisphere. Since 2022, it has been the sole certified Greek language exam centre in New South Wales, officially accredited by the Centre for Greek Language (CGL) in Thessaloniki.

The certificate, officially accredited by the Greek Ministry of Education, is the only state-recognised qualification for Greek as a second or foreign language. It is recognised throughout the European Union and by the NSW Education Standards Authority.
