The recent Greek Sales auction in Paris was one of the most successful events of the past 15 years, with nearly 9 out of 10 works by Greek artists finding new owners at prices well above their estimates. The total turnover exceeded €3,650,000, highlighting the growing demand for Greek art internationally.

The standout piece of the Bonhams auction, organized in collaboration with Art Expertise, was “Esatzis” by Yannis Tsarouchis, which sold for €508,400, one of the highest prices ever recorded for the painter’s work.

Other highlights included:

  • “Epithalamio” by Yannis Moralis – €381,400
  • “Landscape of Hydra” by Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas – €330,600, six times its initial estimate
  • “Whirlwinds” by Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas – €152,800
  • “Markos Botsaris” by Theophilos – €127,400
  • Diptych “Erotokritos and Polydoros” by Yannis Tsarouchis – €127,400

Additional works by Bouzianis, Volanakis, Engonopoulos, and Rallis also achieved impressive prices, demonstrating strong international interest in Greek art.
