Athens, Greece – December 11, 2025 – The most festive and heartwarming running event of the holiday season is back! On Sunday, December 21, 2025, the Athens Santa Run 2025 will once again transform the streets of central Athens into a sea of red and white as runners of all ages dress as Santa Claus for a joyful 2.8 km charity run.
Organized by the Municipality of Athens through its Culture, Sports, and Youth Organization (OPANDA) in collaboration with Greece’s largest running community, Offline Running Association, and supported by ActiveMedia Group, the event combines Christmas spirit, exercise, and solidarity.

The race starts and finishes at the historic Athens City Hall (63 Athinas Str.) and follows a scenic loop through some of the city’s most iconic streets: Athinas, Ermou, Agion Asomaton, Pireos, and Omonia Square, before returning to Kotzia Square for a celebratory finish.
A Run with Purpose. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Reception and Solidarity Center of the Municipality of Athens (KYADA), which provides daily support, shelter, food, and social integration services to individuals and families facing poverty and social exclusion. Additional funds will purchase sports equipment for OPANDA’s youth programs.
Global Phenomenon – Local Heart The Santa Run is a beloved worldwide tradition held in cities such as Tokyo, New York, London, Venice, Budapest, and Madrid. Athens proudly joins this global celebration, bringing thousands of smiling Santas to its historic center.
