Uber Eats Enters Greece 2026

Uber Eats, the global food delivery giant and a subsidiary of the U.S.-based Uber Technologies, is set to enter the Greek market, as reported by the Financial Times.

The platform is anticipated to launch operations in Greece during the summer of 2026.

This expansion follows Uber's recent strategic moves in the region, including its agreement to acquire the delivery business of the Turkish platform Getir from Mubadala Investment Company (building on its prior acquisition of Trendyol Go in Turkey last year). These steps highlight Uber's push to strengthen its presence in competitive delivery markets.

In Greece, the food delivery sector is currently led by two dominant players: efood and Wolt. Meanwhile, BOX (part of the Cosmote group) continues to grow its network of partners, though it remains significantly smaller in scale compared to the market leaders.

Uber's broader European strategy for 2026 includes launching in seven new countries—Austria, Denmark, Finland, Norway, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Romania—aiming to generate an additional $1 billion in gross bookings over the next three years by challenging incumbents and offering enhanced value to consumers and merchants.
