Riyadh – April 2, 2025—Saudi Arabia’s national airline, Saudia, announced in a press release that it has introduced seasonal flights from Riyadh to Athens, Greece.
The first flight, SV195, departed from King Khalid International Airport on April 2, 2025.
The new Riyadh–Athens route will run three times weekly. It will utilize the Airbus A320, celebrated for its efficiency, reliability, and contemporary in-flight amenities. This addition addresses rising demand from tourists and business travelers, delivering greater convenience, comfort, and access.
To further bolster connectivity, Saudia plans to launch flights from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport to Athens starting in June 2025. This expansion is part of the airline’s ambitious fleet modernization effort—the largest in its history—aimed at boosting seat capacity, refining its route network, and enhancing the overall travel experience. These moves support Saudia’s broader goal of expanding its global presence, sharpening its competitive edge, and adapting to shifting passenger needs.
Notably, in 2023, Saudia—previously known as Saudi Arabian Airlines—made history as the first carrier to operate flights to and from the Red Sea International Airport.
