Crews from the Municipality of Athens’ sanitation department using five large sweepers and six street washing machines, cleaned and washed the streets in Plaka on Sunday.
It is recalled that similar cleanups have occurred in recent months in Kolonaki, Exarchia, Metaxourgeio, Votanikos, Probonas and Petralona,
“No neighbourhood in Athens forgotten, no corner of the invisible. Athens recovers its colours and shine with constant cleaning businesses in all its public areas. Today, the Sunday of cleanliness, in Plaka,” Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis posted.
The initiative is a way of ensuring “the citizens’ right to enjoy their city, clean.”
