Love Letters from Athens

Travellers have their passport ready and are eager to travel again (to Greece) in 2021.

Through six beautiful videos, Greece's capital city sends a message to travellers- "We look forward to seeing you again!"

The 'Love letters from Athens' campaign by 'This is Athens', is addressed to all lovers of Greece with messages of anticipation and optimism.

"In such a difficult period, Athens declares its presence in world tourism. With strong collaborations and preparation that make it ready to welcome visitors again, when conditions allow," Athens mayor Kostas Bakogiannis said.

"With this campaign, we send the message to everyone that the Greek capital adapts its strategic planning to the new data and is ready to play a leading role in the new map of tourism, as it is being formed," he added.

The campaign aims to evoke feelings of nostalgia in visitors, thus developing a "personal" relationship between them and the beautiful city.

The six short videos feature historical and impressive monuments of Athens including the statue of goddess Athena at Athens Academy building, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Panathenaic Stadium and Plaka.

The campaign is also available in three languages - English, French and German.
