Crete: Nurse presents fake COVID-19 self-test to not be vaccinated

A nurse presented a fake COVID-19 self-test at the Venizelio Hospital in Heraklion in order to obtain a certificate to avoid being vaccinated.

However, the management of the hospital acted swiftly.

The commander of the 7th Ministry of Health of Crete, Lena Borboudaki, said that the nurse may lose her job and that investigations will be completed by the end of the week.

According to eKriti, the leadership of the Ministry of Health has been informed about the incident.

It should be noted that, unvaccinated health professionals and industry professionals in public hospitals have until August 31 to be vaccinated.

Borboudaki, speaking about the plan to strengthen the public health system, pointed out that rural doctors in the prefecture of Heraklion, for example from the Kastelli Hospital, will be temporarily transferred to Venizeleio ICU to strengthen medical staff.
