thessaloniki

Thessaloniki is in a state of shock after the brutal crime that occurred in the early hours of Thursday in Menemeni when a 29-year-old man killed with a knife and blows to the head a 64-year-old man whom he had met only a few hours earlier.

The crime was revealed when the 29-year-old himself, who is expected to be taken to the prosecutor today, went to the police station and confessed to his act with a description that causes chills even to experienced police officers.

As Proto Thema reported, the 29-year-old told the police that he initially went to the victim's house in order to do some work for a fee. Then, while he was in the bedroom of the house, the 64-year-old attacked him and tried to rape him.

The 29-year-old fought back and began punching the 64-year-old in the face with such fury that he eventually fell unconscious. He then tied a rope around the victim's neck and, grabbing three knives from the kitchen, stabbed two into the mattress, leaving the third in the man's groin.

His next move, as he told the police, was to take a sponge, soak it in the victim's blood and write the word "paediphile-1" on a pillar in the living room.

The police officers who went to the apartment on Kazantzakis street repoted that they found the 64-year-old naked and in a pool of blood in the bedroom. As they found, the man had multiple wounds on his head, while they also found three knives, which they confiscated.

A sealed condom was also found at the crime scene

For his part, the medical examiner who went to the scene found two wounds from a pointed object on the victim's face and multiple blows to the head.

The case is complicated even more by the information that the 29-year-old man went to the police station on July 18 and told the police that he killed two foreigners, who the day before tried to rob him with a knife.

At the time his claims - as he said he dumped the bodies of the two foreigners - which was not verified, but after the murder he committed on Thursday, police investigations are continuing.

Finally, information from police sources states that the 29-year-old had been involved with the authorities for theft and drug cases and was released from prison in 2022.
