Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson saw Melisses in Athens: "We're looking forward to helping Greece"

Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson

Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, have been in Greece, specifically Athens, for the last few days.

The couple, who enjoy their vacations in our country every summer, attended the concert of the band "Melisses" at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus to support the "Together for the Child" NGO on the evening of Tuesday, September 12.

Smiling and hugging, the two Hollywood stars were photographed against the ancient conservatory's backdrop, alone and with band members Christos Mastoras, Costas Mavrogennis and Thanos Laitsas, and other artists such as Elpida.

When asked by reporters how he is finding the country, he said "it never gets cold in Greece," before affirming how "we're looking forward to being able to help out all of our friends in Greece at the first opportunity we have" following the deadly floods.

Rita Wilson chose an ensemble perfect for the space, which consisted of a long black skirt and blouse in the same pattern. The white fringes at the end of the dress and the blouse gave an exceptional tone to the whole look, along with her black, flat sandals in which small trunks could be seen.

This year, the couple visited their usual Paros and Antiparos in June, but this time with the Obamas. Later, they were then seen in Karpathos.

Hanks and his Greek-American wife, Wilson, vacation in Greece every year.

At the end of December 2019, the famous actor and his wife became naturalised Greek citizens at the initiative of the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who had made the relevant proposal to the actor and gladly accepted.

Wilson has Greek roots since her mother comes from Epirus, while Hanks loves Greece and its people and spends many of his summers in Antiparos, where the couple also have their own home.
