It is recalled that Mr Erdoğan has disputed the designation of Hamas as a terrorist organisation and has come out strongly against Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu since the war in Israel began.

On the other hand, Greece has condemned the terrorist attack by Hamas, has expressed its support for Israel's right to self-defence and is asking for the release of the hostages as well as humanitarian support for the Palestinians in Gaza.
