A large part of the Prefecture of Ioannina and mainly areas of Konitsa, Zagori and Metsovo was dressed in white, with the snowfall continuing, and the Region of Epirus is ready to address potential problems.
According to ERT, the Civil Protection of the Region of Epirus services have activated 14 machines for snow removal, while the services of the municipalities are also on hand to provide assistance where needed.
The areas of Konitsa, Zagori and Metsovo are impressively dressed in white as snowfall continues intermittently in various places. For those travelling to these areas, it is recommended that they be prepared with snow chains for their vehicles to deal with the difficulties that may arise.
Ano Vrontou and Lailias in Serres have also dressed in "white" as the snowfall that started last night continues but without the same intensity.
The height of the snow has reached forty points, while a little while ago, a blizzard broke out. Snow removal machines of the Regional Unit of Serres and the Municipality of Serres have been cleaning the roads from the snow since early morning.
So far, however, no particular problems have arisen, while the movement of the vehicles is done using anti-slip chains.
