As the Olympic basketball match between Spain and Greece approaches, Spain’s national team coach Sergio Scariolo emphasised the importance of mental readiness.

In a statement ahead of the game, Scariolo highlighted that the upcoming clash demands not just physical but also psychological preparation.

Scariolo praised Greece’s roster, noting the presence of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo along with key players Kostas Papanikolaou, Giannoulis Larenzakis, and Dinos Mitoglou. He acknowledged the challenge posed by Greece’s strong defence and shooting skills, describing the game as highly demanding.

“The team is united and ready for another battle,” Scariolo said. “Our more experienced players are quickly adapting because the future is now. We need to fight for today, as these games are crucial learning experiences for our younger players.”

The Spanish coach underscored that Greece’s blend of world-class talent and seasoned athletes makes them formidable opponents in this crucial matchup.
