Governor of Mount Athos Resigns, Successor Announced

The Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry announced on Tuesday that Ambassador (ret) Anastasios Mitsialis has resigned from his position as governor of the all-male monastic community of Mount Athos.

In the same statement, the ministry revealed that Mitsialis will be succeeded by retired Hellenic Army General Staff chief and former National Defense Minister, General Alkiviadis Stefanis.
